Pilgrimage Trip to St. Mary Church in New Haven, CT – July 29, 2017

On Saturday, July 29, 2017 – Candlewood Lake Council No. 11913 hosted a Pilgrimage Trip to the very birthplace of the Knights of Columbus: St. Mary Church in New Haven, CT.

This trip was organized by Council Chaplain Fr. Eric W. Silva of St. Joseph’s Church in Brookfield, CT as part of a ‘Spiritual Bouquet’ offered by the Council and seeking the intercession of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney for the healing intentions of our Worthy Grand Knight – Vincent Lupo Jr.

That morning, over two-dozen Council members and their families travelled to St. Mary’s where they received a wonderful guided tour… spent time in prayer at the tomb of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus… celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass… came together to pray the Rosary for the healing intentions of our Grand Knight… then gathered in the Parish Hall for a pizza lunch from Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana of New Haven – as well as several presentations to our Worthy Grand Knight by the Council.

Following the events at St. Mary Church, some members went off to explore the nearby Knights of Columbus Museum, also in New Haven.
